Guerrilla Games is set to release a multiplayer game in the Horizon universe before the third installment of the main series. This was revealed by renowned Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier during the Spawn Wave podcast.
According to Schreier, the next major project from Guerrilla will indeed be a multiplayer game, information about which surfaced in 2022. A large part of the team is currently working on it. At the same time, a sequel to Horizon Forbidden West is expected to arrive "not anytime soon."
Guerrilla has already confirmed that they are developing a new single-player game in the Horizon series. However, there has been no official announcement yet, and based on Schreier's information, it seems that we shouldn't expect one in the near future.
Despite the absence of a new main installment, the Horizon franchise continues to evolve. A remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn is set to release next month, followed by LEGO Horizon Adventures a few weeks later.
