The head of Bethesda, Todd Howard, possesses an exclusive Xbox achievement, but its description remained a mystery for nearly four years.
In September 2020, Xbox gifted Todd Howard a special game. This gesture commemorated Howard receiving a lifetime achievement award from the Game Developers Conference (GDC). The game's launch automatically unlocked an Xbox achievement called Lifetime, worth 1000 points.
Recently, the website TrueAchievements, which specializes in gaming achievements, uncovered the full description of this unique trophy. The achievement text reads:
“Reflects the incredible skill of Todd Howard and his team in creating worlds that are as real as any on Earth.”
The revelation sparked lively reactions from TrueAchievements users. Commenters recalled the most famous memes associated with Howard, particularly regarding the numerous re-releases of Skyrim. One user quoted the phrase "It just works!" that became popular after the Fallout 4 presentation.
Todd Howard has been in the gaming industry for 30 years. He joined Bethesda in 1994 and contributed to the development of the CD version of The Elder Scrolls: Arena. Howard's first full project was the game The Terminator: Future Shock, released in 1995. He gained widespread fame as the director of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Recently, Howard fulfilled his long-standing dream by creating the space RPG Starfield. He also served as the executive producer for the game Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, marking yet another significant milestone in his career. According to former Bethesda marketing vice president Pete Hines, Howard is “possibly the biggest Indiana Jones fan on the planet.”
