Andrzej Sapkowski has announced that he has completed a new book in the "Witcher" series. The writer has met the deadlines he mentioned earlier.

In an interview with Chimères, Andrzej Sapkowski shared that he has finished working on the new "Witcher" book, although he did not disclose the title. Last August, Sapkowski stated that the book would be released in a year — and that has come to pass.

“I currently have no plans. I finished the book. It took me, perhaps, about two years, something like that.”

The author previously noted that the book will focus on Geralt but will not be part of the main saga. The previously mentioned winter release date for the new "Witcher" book seems very likely. This will be the first book in the series in 11 years since "Season of Storms" in 2013. The prequel story featuring Geralt also was not a part of the main saga.

In this context, it is impossible not to mention George Martin. Speaking at the Oxford House of Writers, Martin expressed his desire to finish his own series of books, "A Song of Ice and Fire." The process has dragged on for many years, during which the writer has been actively involved in television series. Of course, the working style and scale of the saga and universe differ in his case, but at least Sapkowski has a concrete output.
