The research firm Canalys has released quarterly data on the global smartphone processor market share. MediaTek, Apple, and Qualcomm lead in various categories.

In terms of the number of processors shipped, MediaTek has no close competitors. However, a higher volume does not necessarily equate to the highest profits. Apple takes the lead in that regard. When it comes to growth rate, no company can match HiSilicon from Huawei, which surged ahead of its rivals with a 211% increase compared to the same period last year.

MediaTek shipped 119 million processors—this figure is down compared to the third quarter of last year. Despite the launch of the Dimensity 9400 in the fourth quarter, MediaTek enjoyed significant success in the third quarter, generating $26 billion. However, shipments and profits have decreased compared to last year's figures. Qualcomm performed better with fewer shipments, earning $38 billion from 76 million chips. It seems MediaTek is sacrificing profit to secure more orders from clients.

Apple does not come close to MediaTek or Qualcomm in processor quantity—having released 54 million chips—but it achieved the highest profits among all suppliers, surpassing itself by 11% compared to the same period last year. Apple does not sell its processors to others; instead, utilizing them in iPhones generates more revenue. With each iPhone sold, Apple earns more.

Huawei is limited to its domestic market but has shown rapid growth there. However, this is relatively modest in absolute terms: only 8 million HiSilicon processors and $7 billion. More detailed figures can be seen in charts (though blurred out in the Chinese open source).
