Kalypso Media has released a gameplay trailer for Commandos: Origins in anticipation of Gamescom 2024. The legendary isometric tactical game series will see a new installment this year.
The trailer features gameplay from the latest alpha version of the game. The final product may vary, but the game appears to be well-finished, and its release is approaching quickly...
In Commandos: Origins, players will assume the roles of Jack O'Hara (“Green Beret”) and Francis T. Woolridge (sniper). Players will guide these characters through real locations from World War II, facing thrilling challenges in a variety of unexpected settings. They will infiltrate enemy bases in the icy Arctic, board a German submarine under the cover of night, and traverse the scorching sands of the African desert.
During the World War II era, original characters from the franchise come together to form the iconic group of Commandos. The first game, Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines, was released in 1998, followed by its sequel, Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty, in 1999. The second and third games were launched in 2003 and 2006, respectively, along with HD remasters in 2022.
Commandos: Origins promises an engaging narrative with over 10 missions filled with challenging trials. The game world will be detailed and diverse, allowing players to experiment with various strategies. Options include stealth, crawling, vehicle operation, completing missions covertly, or engaging in fierce combat. The game is set to release in 2024, though an exact date has yet to be announced.
