The skin for the AK-47 gun from Counter-Strike has become the most expensive skin ever publicly sold for the game. This is not the first time a Counter-Strike skin has been worth a lot, but it is the first one with a value exceeding $1 million.
Journalist Jake Lucky reported on Twitter about the sale of the StatTrak Factory New AK-47 skin in the Blue Gem pattern 661. He noted that the price was over $1 million, however, he did not specify the exact amount. This unique skin was introduced in CS:GO in 2013, and no one had seen a Factory New variant in the game until this year. Streamers and Counter-Strike players had estimated that it could be sold for up to $1 million. The last sale of the StarTrak 661 was in 2022, when the Minimal Wear version of the skin was priced at $400,000.

Kotaku notes that the value is largely due to the Blue Gem color, which gives the AK-47 a shiny blue metallic look. Blue Gem skins have always been the rarest and therefore the most expensive skins in Counter-Strike. Previously, the owner of a Blue Gem knife rejected an offer of approximately $1.5 million, making it the most expensive Counter-Strike skin in terms of estimated value.
