The journalist from GTABase reported on the postponement of the GTA 6 release, citing anonymous sources.

Developers of Grand Theft Auto 6 have revised their plans regarding the game's launch date. According to a representative from the GTABase website, which focuses on news related to the GTA series, the release of the sixth installment of the franchise has been pushed back to 2026. This information comes from several developers at two unnamed game studios.

According to the new schedule, the PC version of GTA 6 is expected to launch 12 to 18 months after the console version.

It is important to approach such rumors with caution. No official statements from Rockstar Games regarding the postponement of the GTA 6 release date have been made public as of now. Therefore, this information remains at the rumor stage until it is officially confirmed or denied by the developers.

Recall that the first trailer for GTA 6 was released on December 5, 2023, in which the developers announced a 2025 release for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. In Rockstar Games’ financial report, it was noted that the studio aimed to release the game in the fall of 2025. However, the exact release date has not yet been officially announced.

Recently, Rockstar Games also released a new promotional clip for GTA Online that caught the attention of fans, hinting at the release date for GTA 6.

Updated September 9, 2024.

Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier reported, citing six employees of the company he spoke with, stating:

“The internet (and my DMs) exploded this weekend with rumors about the delay of GTA VI. The good news: six Rockstar employees told me they haven't heard of any delay. The bad news: it's a big, ambitious game, and it very well might be delayed! There's still too much time left to say anything definitive.”
