Imagine raids on Arasaka with the entire server.

CD Projekt RED (CDPR) has achieved significant success with Cyberpunk 2077 following the resolution of numerous bugs that plagued the game's launch. Despite a challenging start, the developers managed to improve the situation and regain players' trust.

Recent news indicates that CDPR is searching for a lead network programmer. This might hint at plans to introduce a multiplayer mode in the upcoming sequel to the game. The job listing entails the creation and implementation of network architecture and online systems.

The new hire will lead a team of engineers to ensure a high-quality multiplayer experience. Their responsibilities will include developing matchmaking systems, addressing latency issues, and optimizing server resource usage.

It is important to note that this position is not related to the multiplayer spin-off of "The Witcher," which is being developed by The Molasses Flood. CDPR has listed the job separately from the positions announced by that studio, indicating a different project.

Most likely, multiplayer will be featured in Project Orion — the codename for the sequel to Cyberpunk 2077. CDPR had previously discussed the possibility of adding a multiplayer mode to this game.

It is worth reminding that the original Cyberpunk 2077 was intended to have a multiplayer feature, but the developers later scrapped the idea. Now CDPR may try to implement this functionality in the sequel.
