The personal AI assistant Gemini Live is now available in Ukrainian. This means you can engage in natural conversations with the assistant, receive answers to questions, complete tasks, and much more—all in your native language.
Starting today and over the coming weeks, Google is expanding Gemini Live on Android phones for the Ukrainian language. In the next few weeks, access to Gemini Live in Ukrainian will also be available on iOS devices. Gemini Live will support conversations in two languages on a single device. Users can set their preferred languages in the Google app:
- On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app and tap your profile picture or initials at the top.
- Go to Settings > Gemini > Languages.
- Select Ukrainian or any supported language.
If desired, you can add a second supported language. Currently, you can set and use up to two languages with Gemini Live. Support for new languages in Gemini Live is being rolled out gradually.
Google highlights that users can talk to Gemini Live like a friend. You can generate ideas together, explore new topics, or prepare for an important presentation. All communication occurs through voice, akin to a normal conversation. Gemini Live can support your discussions, enabling shifts in conversation direction or deeper dives into specific topics.
Examples of Interaction with Gemini Live:
- Ask for advice: Discuss various topics with Gemini, like potential jobs that best match your skills or education.
- Plan events: Communicate with Gemini about organizing a birthday party for friends and family.
- Dive into new topics and broaden your horizons: Inquire about historical events, scientific concepts, or even the rules of chess or mahjong.
- Explore local themes and ideas: Engage with Gemini on topics specific to your region or interests.
Additionally, there are reports of integration with Google apps. Gemini Live can now interact with a wider range of applications like Calendar, Tasks, Keep, and Utilities. Using extensions, Gemini can gather all necessary information from other apps and services to help you complete tasks more easily and quickly. This enables a variety of tasks, from creating grocery lists to planning trips.
In the coming weeks, Ukrainians will be able to access new tools in various applications in Ukrainian. Here are some examples of using Gemini extensions in Ukrainian:
- Ask Gemini to find a recipe sent to you in Gmail and add the ingredients to your grocery list in Keep.
- Take a photo of a concert poster and ask Gemini if you're free that day—and even set a reminder to buy tickets.
- Ask Gemini when the anticipated movie is coming out, and then request a reminder a week before to purchase tickets.
