The serialized adaptation of "Like a Dragon: Yakuza" will span two time periods (the 1990s and 2000s) and will narrate the life of a warrior from a yakuza family, characterized by a strong sense of justice, duty, and humanity.

The teaser was first revealed at the RGG SEGA event on September 20, and now the Prime Video JP account has released a dedicated video.

The lead role in "Like a Dragon: Yakuza" is played by Ryoma Takeuchi ("Kamen Rider"), alongside Kento Kaku (Nishiki) and Munetaka Aoki (Majima). Notably, Aoki has portrayed his character before — at least, it has been announced that he voiced a young Majima in the upcoming game Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii, scheduled for release in early 2025.

The upcoming series is directed by Masaharu Take ("Love for 100 Yen") and Kengo Takemoto ("Kamen Rider"), with producers Eric Barmack, Roberto Grande, and Joshua Long, and screenwriters Sean Krouch, Yugo Nakamura, Yasuhiro Yoshida, and Kana Yamada.

"Like a Dragon: Yakuza" will debut on Amazon Prime Video on October 25 with three episodes, while the next "batch" is expected to arrive on November 1. The series will be available in subtitled and dubbed versions in 30 languages.

The "Like a Dragon: Yakuza" series is based on the SEGA computer role-playing game franchise, which showcases the lives of "fierce yet passionate gangsters" in the vast entertainment district of Kamurocho. The first game focuses on the character Kazuma Kiryu, who spends 10 years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit, and upon his release, embarks on a quest for money, old friends, and new adventures.
