Microsoft has announced the release of an updated version of the Xbox Series X console without a disc drive.
The revamped Xbox Series X will feature a built-in 1 TB storage and will support only digital game versions. The console's design has been altered, now sporting a white color that aligns it more closely with the lower-end Xbox Series S model. Despite rumors of potential technical upgrades, the official product page does not provide information on any significant hardware changes aside from the removal of the disc drive.
Microsoft also announced the release of two additional console models. The first is a special edition Xbox Series X "Galaxy Black" with a 2 TB storage capacity. This version features a unique design for the body and the controller, resembling a starry sky. It will retail for $599.99. The second new offering is the Xbox Series S with a 1 TB storage capacity, priced at $349.99.
All three new console models will be available for purchase on October 15, 2024. According to Microsoft representatives, the consoles will be accessible in all regions where Xbox devices are currently supported. American users can already place pre-orders for the new consoles.
