The release of Black Myth: Wukong on August 20 prompted the Chinese company to give almost all employees a day off — though with two interesting conditions.

If the auto-translation of the company's announcements on Twitter is to be believed (via Dexerto), the extra day off could be granted to any employee who had pre-ordered the game, but only for the PC or PlayStation 5 versions (the Xbox release has been postponed indefinitely, and so this version was excluded from the offer).

In a letter stamped with the seal of "Chengdu Science and Technology," it was mentioned that the day off was not intended for leisure but for "serious work." Additionally, the text asked employees to be available in case any "Mr. Lei struggles to complete the game on his own and needs assistance."

For its part, the company promised free coffee and apparently some "Deluxe Editions" of Black Myth.

"We sincerely congratulate the employees who diligently work in various departments and positions. I wish everyone a great time!" — the message concludes

Black Myth: Wukong — is a role-playing action-adventure game by Game Science, inspired by the classic Chinese novel "Journey to the West." The game set a Steam record right after launch, achieving the second largest number of simultaneous players on the platform, second only to PUBG.
