Programmers have proven that if a device has a screen, it can run Doom.
Now, the game is functioning on the interactive alarm clock Nintendo Alarmo, yet another quirky device in the long history of porting the iconic shooter.
Developer GaryOderNichts created a working version of the game in just three days after claiming that Nintendo Alarmo could only display pictures of cats. "After my last post, it was clear that everyone wanted to see it on the Alarmo. So here it is — Doom running on Nintendo Alarmo!" — the enthusiast wrote on his page on X (Twitter).

Doom on the alarm clock has certain technical limitations. The version runs without sound, and to bypass the USB loader's memory limits, the game files need to be compressed beforehand. However, a demo version of the classic shooter can be launched via USB without any modifications to the device.
This experiment continues the glorious tradition of running Doom on the most unexpected devices. Previously, the game has been adapted for masturbators and tractors; Doom has even been run using intestinal bacteria and on a 3D display like in "Star Wars".
Nintendo unveiled its interactive alarm clock Alarmo this month, priced at $99. Currently, the device is available only to subscribers of the Nintendo Switch Online service through My Nintendo Store. General sales will begin in mid-January 2025.
