Sergey Grigorovich, the founder of GSC Game World, shared updates on the status of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2, confirmed the release date, and proposed an intriguing challenge.
In an interview with Vladimir Zolkin, Grigorovich talked about S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl and more. He confirmed November 20 as the release date and announced that the game will not support the Russian language: "I want to 'congratulate' Russians that S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will be released, but not in Russian." Naturally, the game will not be launched in Russia.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is expected to be released in a satisfactory technical state. According to Grigorovich, the game has crossed the threshold where the number of bugs no longer adversely affects the perception and commercial success. Previous delays frustrated fans, but they were primarily due to the large number of bugs:
“Any released product comes with bugs. There is just a line; if the number of bugs goes above that line, the project falls apart. You need to get past that line. Generally, about 200 people test the product. Then a million-strong audience joins in, statistically testing the project much more effectively. The testing department quickly fixes these errors and produces patches. The project doesn’t lose sales. That’s why we postponed it until now, when we are no longer ashamed. There will still be bugs, and they will be patched. There are already so few bugs that it’s no longer embarrassing to release it, and we’re not afraid of the circulation."
Regarding the Russian ship, the businessman refers to the frigate "Admiral Grigorovich." He promises to give away his own Rolls-Royce, which is currently valued at up to $500,000, for its sinking. The car is in Spain, and Grigorovich is willing to deliver it in Germany or drive it to Ukraine.
“I spoke with the guys involved, and I promised a hefty sum for them to sink it. Simply because it shames my surname. I’m ready to give away my Rolls-Royce. Its real worth is around $300,000 if auctioned; $500,000.”
The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl page on Steam indicates that due to high demand, GSC Game World has ordered an additional print run of physical copies. The update outlines four editions: Standard, Limited, Collector's, and Ultimate. Pre-orders will be available in various countries, with buyers receiving a digital copy on the release day and physical content by April 2025.
