The Dying Light: The Beast trailer showcases the return of protagonist Kyle Crane and introduces a new open-world region. Developers mention approximately 20 hours of gameplay.

The story takes place in the once-bustling tourist destination, Castor-Woods, where both friendly and hostile factions now reside. Playing as Kyle, he escapes after being held captive and experimented on for 13 years since his previous appearances in the series. Now free, he seeks vengeance against those who conspired to imprison him. The Beast is a massive monster roaming the forests… however, Crane, having undergone experiments, now possesses zombie DNA woven into his own, granting him the "beast's strength" to combat it.

Dying Light: The Beast will feature a cooperative mode for four players with shared progress, as well as a solo mode. The day-night cycle also makes a return.

Dying Light: The Beast will launch on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox and PlayStation, though a release date has not yet been announced. It is expected that the release date will be revealed later this year. Owners of Dying Light 2: Stay Human Ultimate Edition will receive The Beast for free—while the price for others will be $39.99.
