Spare parts for the Google Pixel Pro 9 Fold are now available on iFixit's website — and the prices for some suggest it might be wiser to buy a new phone or laptop instead of repairing a broken one.
For instance, replacing the internal display for the Pixel 9 Pro Fold will cost $1199 — and that’s just the parts price, including the frame, hinge, side buttons, and the OLED screen itself.
A tool kit for DIY repairs will set you back $1207. Last year’s Pixel Fold also came with a hefty screen replacement cost of $899, but the jump in price is significant compared to that. For context: the Pixel Pro 9 Fold itself costs $1799; with the money spent on repairs, one could purchase a brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max or even a 13-inch MacBook Air M3 for $1099, with some money left over.
Other components for the Pixel Pro 9 Fold available on iFixit are priced as follows:
- External display — $190
- Rear cameras — $250
- Internal front camera — $90
- External front camera — $80
- Battery — $67
