Today marked the annual autumn presentation by Apple, during which they unveiled new models of the iPhone, the anniversary edition of the Apple Watch Series 10, and a couple of new headphones—alongside the announcement of several intriguing artificial intelligence features (which are unlikely to arrive in our region anytime soon).

Highlights of the "It's Glowtime" Presentation — What Apple Revealed

  • New iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus feature a design with vertically aligned cameras on the back and a palette of five colors. The standard iPhone has a 6.1″ display, while the larger iPhone 16 Plus boasts a 6.7″ screen. The main technological breakthrough in these models is the 3-nm A18 processor, which is 30% faster than the previous version. The camera system has undergone significant upgrades, now including a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a 2x telephoto lens and a new 12-megapixel ultra-wide camera. Prices start at $799 for the iPhone 16 (128 GB) and $899 for the iPhone 16 Plus (128 GB).
  • iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max come with larger displays (6.3 and 6.9 inches diagonally), a powerful 3-nm A18 Pro processor, and an improved camera. Apple promises a 17% increase in memory bandwidth, a 20% boost in the performance of the 6-core GPU, and a 15% increase in the performance of the 6-core CPU compared to the A17 Pro. The main camera features a 48-megapixel Fusion module with OIS, a new 48-megapixel ultra-wide module with autofocus, and a 12-megapixel telephoto module offering 5x optical zoom. The iPhone 16 line also introduces a new Camera Control button. The iPhone 16 Pro (128 GB) is priced at $999, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max (256 GB) starts at $1199.
  • Apple Watch Series 10 offers a larger and brighter OLED display with a thinner and lighter casing, along with new health features. It features a polished aluminum case and a new metallic back that integrates various antennas for the smartwatch; Apple also provided a version with a titanium stainless steel case. The device comes with a larger charging coil for faster charging (the Series 10 battery can reach 80% in just 30 minutes). Pricing for the Apple Watch Series 10 starts at $399 for the GPS version, while the cellular model is priced at $499.
  • Updated Apple Watch Ultra 2has a new "satin black" color and features for detecting sleep apnea. The titanium Milanese Loop band is made from corrosion-resistant material, making it suitable for underwater enthusiasts. Meanwhile, watchOS 11 introduces an update called Smart Stack, which displays widgets when you turn the Digital Crown, showing real-time activity. The device is available for pre-order at a price of $799.
  • Two models of AirPods 4: the standard version features shorter stems and improved sound quality while maintaining an open design without interchangeable tips, while the premium version includes active noise cancellation (ANC), previously available only in Pro models (both AirPods 4 models now come with a USB-C charging case, reflecting Apple's overall shift away from the Lightning connector). Prices for the new AirPods 4 models start at $129 for the standard version and $179 for the model with ANC.
  • Updated AirPods Max: the main change is the transition from a Lightning port to USB-C for physical connection and charging. The headphones' design remains largely the same as the original version, maintaining the aluminum and steel construction. However, Apple introduced a new color palette for the AirPods Max, enhancing personalization options for users. AirPods Max will be available for $549.
  • The release date for iOS 18, iPad OS 18, and the new macOS is set for September 16.
  • Apple Intelligence features will only be functional in the beta version of iOS 18.1, starting in October. Users in the US will be the first to access them, with support for English dialects in Australia, Canada, the UK, and others arriving in December. By 2025, Apple Intelligence features will launch in Chinese, French, Spanish, and Japanese (no mentions were made regarding the Ukrainian language or our region).

Recording of the Broadcast Apple "It's Glowtime"

As usual, Apple streamed the presentation of new products on its website, the Apple TV app, and YouTube. Below, we include the recording of the official YouTube stream (in English) and a link to the text live stream from the ITC website (in Ukrainian).
