Used car registrations under 5 years old up 60%: which types and models are the most popular?

In the first three quarters of 2024, Ukrainians purchased 50,100 used cars imported from abroad, all under five years old. This marks a 60% increase compared to the first nine months of 2023.

It is worth noting that from January to September 2024, 176,000 used cars were registered for the first time in Ukraine. Consequently, vehicles aged under five years represented more than 28% of this total.

Interestingly, electric vehicles dominated this segment of imported cars, accounting for 40% of the overall figure.

Most popular used cars under five years old by powertrain type:

1. Electric vehicles — 40%;
2. Gasoline cars — 39%;
3. Diesel cars — 10%;
4. Hybrid cars — 7%;
5. CNG vehicles — 4%.

1. TESLA Model Y — 3,231 units;
2. TESLA Model 3 — 2,885 units;
3. HYUNDAI Kona — 1,635 units;
4. NISSAN Rogue — 1,622 units;
5. MAZDA CX5 — 1,598 units;
6. VOLKSWAGEN Tiguan — 1,429 units;
7. VOLKSWAGEN Golf — 1,144 units;
8. NISSAN Leaf — 1,078 units;
9. KIA Niro — 998 units;
10. AUDI Q5 — 966 units.
