At the Xbox Games Showcase 2024, Obsidian Entertainment released a new trailer for Avowed. It has been confirmed that the new RPG from genre masters will be released this year.
Updated: Obsidian announced the release date of Avowed on their website - November 12. However, the message was later edited and the date disappeared.
The latest trailer is more cinematic than the previous one, delving deeper into the story of Avowed and the tasks for players. "Explore the Living Lands, a mysterious island full of adventures and dangers. As a herald of Aedir, you are sent to investigate rumors of a plague spreading with a secret that threatens to destroy everything. Can you save the island and your soul from forces that threaten to tear them apart?" - says the description on YouTube.
The trailer introduces the companion Jatta - a soul energy scientist who selflessly seeks a solution to the problem. It also provides information about the game's factions.
Obsidian showcased the gameplay of Avowed during the Xbox Developer Direct event in January last year. The game is created in the best traditions of Obsidian: it has multiple endings, encourages replayability, in which, by the way, you cannot have romances with companions.
This is a first-person role-playing game from the developers of Outer Worlds and Fallout New Vegas. The events of Avowed take place in the same universe as Pillars of Eternity. On launch day, the game will immediately be available on Game Pass.
Despite the lack of an exact release date, there is information that Avowed will be released in November 2024.
