FromSoftware has released a new story trailer for the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for the game Elden Ring. The 3-minute video offers a fresh look at the story, which has largely remained a mystery despite analysis and speculation about previous trailers.
The trailer shows Micella, walking with bloody steps towards an arch with bloodied bodies, presumably waking up from a nightmare. The viewer witnesses a fiery war with a large number of fire giants in cages, with great evil leading the battle. Another boss can also be seen, who was shown earlier, and then the camera turns up from the battle to the golden Erdtree. It appears that the golden Micella and the fiery Mesmer are in conflict.
The video repeatedly shows the golden symbol, presumably traces left by Micella, in various environments. In the final frames, the camera pans back and shows several characters standing near one of these symbols, with the golden Erdtree in the background.
"Will you come with us?" asks a voice at the end of the trailer.
Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree will be released in a month, on June 21, on all platforms and will be "the biggest expansion" FromSoftware has ever made. It will also be the only DLC, but possibly not the end of the series.
