At the publisher's presentationtinyBuild, developers from Hologryph (Lviv) and TowerHaus (Kyiv) showed the first gameplay trailer for SAND - an unusual open-world shooter. For the first time in the video, you can see huge Tramplers - walking machines for player movement, battles, teamwork, and traps awaiting players in this world. And also: "The whole world will hear this trailer in Ukrainian."
The events of SAND take place in an alternative history of the early 20th century. People are already traveling to the stars, and the Austro-Hungarian Empire leads this expansion. Once the jewel in the Kaiser's crown, the planet Sofia is experiencing an ecological catastrophe. Only the most daring treasure hunters travel through its dangerous deserts. Alone or together, they compete for treasures.
"Embark on a treasure hunt, face enemies in massive battles, and most importantly - save yourself with what you find. SAND combines dynamic PvPvE battles with gameplay that is easy to learn yet rich in events, offering you both tense battles and peaceful moments to enjoy the surroundings," the press release says.
Developers highlight the key features of the game:
- Travel on Tramplers - huge platforms walking through the deserts of Sofia, serving as a player's home, transport, and weapon. You can upgrade engines, armor, and cannons and customize the machine for yourself.
- Rich PvPvE battles - the player is not alone in the desert, there are other treasure hunters and monsters on Sofia. Battles can be fought alone or with the help of powerful Trampler weapons. Shooting and combat mechanics are easy, but victory won't be so simple.
- Treasure hunting - valuable items in the devastated cities of the planet await new owners, but others also vie for them.
- Dynamically unpredictable gameplay - in SAND, no two battles are the same. Weapons, supplies, chosen tactics, and random events make them unique.
- Huge open world - players will find unlimited sands of a once-rich planet that has become a desert due to an ecological catastrophe. The world changes dynamically and is partially procedurally generated, always offering something new.
- Made in Ukraine - SAND is created by a Ukrainian team from Lviv. The artistic style and plot of the game honor the Ukrainian people and their culture. In creating the world of SAND, developers were inspired by the history of Ukrainians during the time of Austro-Hungary.
