CD Projekt RED has released a fresh update for the original The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and Next-Gen versions. The main innovation is The Witcher 3 REDkit, a mod editor for the game, but there are other changes.

According to developers, the patch introduces a number of changes to improve the modding experience in The Witcher 3. In addition to REDkit, there is also support for Steam Workshop and large mods similar to DLCs.

The extended REDkit mod editor is based on the game engine. The modding tools are based on the same set of tools used by developers to create game content. REDkit provides almost limitless freedom for modding. It is supported by both the original game and the latest version with updated graphics.

PC modders will be able to create new resources, scenarios, quests, animations, and more. This opens up the possibility of creating large stories, new locations, quest lines—things that were not in the game before.
