The Chinese brand Jiyue, a joint venture between Geely and Baidu, has unveiled the "smart car of the artificial intelligence era" named Jiyue 07. This mid-sized electric sedan features L4 autonomous driving support.
The Jiyue 07 boasts a closed front grille, a continuous light strip stretching along the lower edge of the hood, and distinctive headlights. The car's futuristic design is further enhanced by door release buttons located on the B and C pillars. It achieves an impressive aerodynamic drag coefficient of just 0.198.
With dimensions of 4953 mm in length, 1989 mm in width, 1475 mm in height, and a wheelbase of 3013 mm, the Jiyue 07 provides ample legroom for both front and rear passengers, as well as plenty of cargo space. The trunk, with a capacity of 581 liters, can be expanded to 1573 liters with the rear seats folded down.
The interior of the Jiyue 07 captivates with a massive 35.6-inch touchscreen that can function as a single unit or be divided into three separate segments. The steering wheel, styled like a ship's wheel, gives the car a futuristic appearance, while the navigation system features lane-level mapping for enhanced accuracy.
The Jiyue 07 is available in three variants, each catering to different needs and preferences. The standard version offers a range of 660 km, while the Long Range version can travel up to 880 km on a single charge. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, the Performance version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, thanks to its dual motors.
The single motor versions utilize a 400 V architecture with a rear-mounted motor producing 200 kW, delivering a peak torque of 343 Nm. Meanwhile, the two-motor Performance variant features an 800 V architecture, with a rear motor delivering 300 kW and a front motor providing 230 kW, achieving a total torque of 653 Nm.
The most revolutionary aspect of the Jiyue 07 is its state-of-the-art Apollo 2.0 intelligent driving system with L4 autonomy capabilities. Level L4 allows for autonomous driving without human driver intervention in most situations, although the driver can take control at any time. It appears that Jiyue has taken a cue from Tesla, and this feature is still under development and requires a subscription.
The Jiyue 07 is available in six vibrant colors, starting at a price of 209,900 yuan (approximately €26,600).
