Stainless steel sounds impressive, but regular users of this material can share many intriguing stories about it, not all of which are positive. This also applies to the body material of the Tesla Cybertruck. Some defects have already been reported, such as stains, rust, and fingerprints. Furthermore, to keep the pickup constantly shiny, it requires regular cleaning.
One owner of this Tesla creation eliminated these troubles by spending $4,200 on a special coating. Now, his Cybertruck looks just as it did before the treatment, but without the accompanying issues. It’s worth noting that the vehicle's actual minimum price currently stands at around $100,000. A forum user on CybertruckOwnersForum, known as KRTRW, created a photo review of his Cybertruck explaining the process.
“We had our Cybertruck coated with ceramic at Empire Custom Wraps in Temecula, California. We live in Arizona, but Empire Custom has wrapped more than a dozen Cybertrucks, and I decided I wanted to go to experienced professionals. They were also cheaper than our local shops. Everyone who saw the truck didn’t guess it had a coating.”
The coating color was Flexishield Shining Silver. The photos confirm that the Cybertruck has the same appearance as others—just without the stains and fingerprints. It looks very similar to any other Cybertruck, except without fingerprints and spots. However, upon closer inspection, you might notice a slight ceramic sheen—but would anyone be able to tell unless specifically informed?
Coatings for Cybertrucks have become popular after owners learned about the body issues. Tesla acknowledges the problem and offers coatings in three colors for $6,500. Thus, $4,200 is quite a good deal.
