Following the release of the PC version of God of War: Ragnarök, users have reported numerous technical issues including low FPS, freezes, and sudden game crashes.

The primary cause of these issues may be insufficient video memory. God of War: Ragnarök requires at least an NVIDIA GTX 1060 (6 GB), AMD RX 5500 XT (8 GB), or Intel Arc A750. Users with weaker graphics cards are experiencing serious problems. For instance, a GTX 1650 owner on Reddit reported that the game doesn’t launch at all on his system.

Even with compatible hardware, players may face issues due to third-party software. In particular, MSI Afterburner is known to cause conflicts. Experts recommend disabling all overlays, which are often the source of problems.

Another issue has been the controls using a mouse and keyboard. Players complain about the inability to control the camera with the mouse, forcing them to use arrow keys instead. Some solve this issue by restarting the game or adjusting mouse sensitivity settings.

Developers have already released a patch that partially addressed the situation. However, many users still have to resort to using a gamepad for a comfortable play experience. Nonetheless, the game even has issues with DualSense and Xbox controllers.

Currently, God of War Ragnarök has 64% positive reviews on Steam.
