The deputy director of Cyberpunk 2077 development Pavel Sasko says that The Witcher 4 is the "most advanced" project out of all the games currently being worked on by CD Projekt Red and its partners.
Speaking on the Flow Games podcast, Sasko did not reveal details about any of the future games from CD Projekt Red, but shared a brief insight into the development. He mentioned that the work on "The Witcher 4" is progressing the best right now.
Sasko confirmed the May information from the phone call with CD Projekt investors. The company then confirmed plans to start production of The Witcher 4 this year. Reflecting on the remake of the first The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2, the somewhat problematic spin-off Project Sirius, and the new saga of the Witcher, Sasko noted that The Witcher 4 is the "most advanced of all."
However, CD Projekt still discusses The Witcher 4 not so much as a game, but as an internal concept, and it is quite possible that games like Cyberpunk 2, which is expected to be released after The Witcher 4, will expand technological boundaries. Sasko also reiterated that The Witcher 4 is being developed by the majority of CD Projekt's staff: "most people are working on the Polaris project."
Another interesting part of the conversation is that The Molasses Flood, an indie studio that worked on the somewhat problematic development of Project Sirius, is working directly with Sasko in the new Boston studio of the company, which he is helping to create. The developer joined forces with CDPR only in 2021, when the Boston studio was founded.
