The studio Spiders and publisher Nacon have released the role-playing game GreedFall II on Steam in early access. To celebrate this occasion, they unveiled a new trailer showcasing the stunning landscapes of the game world and characters ready to face numerous challenges.
The storyline of GreedFall II takes place three years before the events of the original game. Unknown kidnappers capture the main character, a native of the island of Tir-Fred, and forcibly take him to the Ancient continent. Here, he discovers the world of the "renaigse" (foreigners) — a land full of secrets where beautiful appearances hide a rotten core.
Players are immersed in the world of Gakan, where inhabitants languish in dilapidated cities plagued by disease and crime. The people here have long forgotten what true freedom means. As a newcomer, the protagonist must skillfully navigate the whirlpool of political intrigues among various factions to carve out his own path to freedom and protect his people from those looking to do them harm.
The game offers a variety of gameplay approaches — from diplomacy and trade to stealth actions. Companions and the protagonist's unique "sense" will aid in searching for clues in the locations. Additionally, the character can craft various tools.
At the start of early access, players can experience the beginning of the story campaign, explore three regions, engage with six companions, and choose from six skill branches.
The developers plan to gradually expand the game. In the fall, a new companion, additional story quests, a new region, a central hub, and two new skill branches will be added. In winter, another companion, a crafting system, and local side quests will be introduced. In the future, the developers aim to raise the maximum level, add faction quests, new regions, and support for photo mode.
The full release date for GreedFall II: The Dying World is currently unknown.
