A Reddit user named Seizo, who works as a garbage truck driver, discovered a true gem at his interesting aromatic job. The computer contained an NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti, and that's not all.
It appears that someone tried to quickly dispose of a fairly powerful workstation. Even though it isn't made up of the newest components, it still features an AMD Threadripper and a top-of-the-line NVIDIA graphics card.
The computer is equipped with a 24-core Threadripper 3960X chip based on the Zen 2 architecture, which was priced at $1399 in 2019. While Zen 2 is not entirely new technology, it is the same architecture used in the Sony PlayStation 5 Pro. The PC is built on an ASUS Prime TRX40-PRO motherboard and has 32 GB of DDR4 memory.
“So, I found a computer at work, and it has an RTX 2080 Ti 11 GB, AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3970X!!! And DDR4 32 GB. And IT WORKS! I just dried it out for a couple of days. The only thing that isn’t working is the CPU cooler display, but the fans are operational. I just need to buy a new power supply—I don't trust what I found because it got wet.”
The GeForce RTX 2080 Ti was priced at $999 in 2018. This graphics card, based on the Turing TU102 chip, was considered truly powerful and was the first to be marketed as "ready for Cyberpunk 2077," even though the game itself wouldn't be released for another two years.
