The creators of TikTok, a super popular short video app, have been working on a new program - it's called Whee and it's already listed on Google Play.
The first to notice the appearance of Whee was APKMirror founder Artem Russakovskii (originally from Ukraine).
Am I the first one to report this? Bytedance, the developer of Tiktok, is testing a new app called Whee. It's currently not available in the US but it is live in over a dozen countries.https://t.co/iNVQlVQ5C2https://t.co/n9rKnrHovE

Currently, the app is available for download on Google Play (for a limited list of countries) - with only 10+ downloads. Whee APK files are also posted on third-party sites.
TikTok Pte. Ltd. describes Whee as a new social app that can keep users connected with their close friends "through spontaneous life moments." The official description states that the app will allow users to take and share photos that "only your friends will see" - in other words, something like another Instagram.
It's worth noting that TikTok itself is facing major issues in the US - legislators are demanding the app be blocked if it does not transition to a new owner. In Ukraine, a petition has also been launched to ban the social network due to its connection to China and the spread of disinformation and Russian propaganda - it has now gathered over 11,000 votes out of the required 25,000.
