A captured Egyptian mentioned that he came to Russia to study at a university specializing in IT technologies; however, for some reason, he decided to obtain citizenship and, along with it, a conscription notice.
This information was shared by press secretary of the 79th Separate Air Assault Brigade, Orest Drimalovsky, during a telethon (via TSN):
“He managed to stay alive. An interesting character—he speaks four languages, a polyglot. He will survive,” Drimalovsky stated.
It is noted that the conscription notice was handed to the captive a month after he received Russian citizenship, and just a few days later, he was at the front lines, participating in assaults in the Kurakhove direction, eventually being captured alongside his “comrade.”
“Another captive is a typical representative of the Russian army, a former convict who went to fight against Ukraine for 200,000 rubles.”
Drimalovsky added that the Air Assault Forces often captured footage with reconnaissance drones showing how Russian stormtroopers “lost motivation” to continue the offensive and “either blew themselves up with grenades or committed suicide with their guns to avoid being captured by the Ukrainians.”
