GSC Game World appears to be uncertain about the technical condition of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2. The company states that their current focus is on a stable launch, while they are also preparing for post-launch work.

The developers told GamesRadar that they are desperately aiming for the best possible release but anticipate significant work on updates in the weeks following the launch, addressing "technical aspects." GSC Game World's PR manager, Zakhar Bocharov, emphasizes the developers' commitment to presenting the game in the best possible state:

“Every [developer] at this moment is completely dedicated, and they are all striving to make the game as perfect as possible.

We do not want this game to be forgotten in a week or two. We are going to ensure that doesn’t happen. We will gather feedback from players and listen to it closely. We have done this in the past, both in successful and less successful cases. We genuinely care about what concerns players, and we will make changes promptly.

At the same time, I cannot express in words how hard everyone is working to achieve as much as possible at this late stage. They are doing everything they can.”

As is known, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 has faced numerous release date delays and was initially set to launch in 2022. The full-scale invasion of Ukraine by Russia certainly impacted the timeline, but the developers quickly relocated to the Czech Republic, and since then, the game has been postponed several times. Technical issues are typically the reason behind release delays. Previous S.T.A.L.K.E.R. titles experienced technical problems upon launch, and the desperate assurances from the PR representative that the studio is "doing everything possible" adds a bit of unease.
