Remedy announced FBC: Firebreak, a multiplayer shooter in the Control universe

Remedy Entertainment has unveiled its first multiplayer shooter, FBC: Firebreak, during the Xbox Partner Preview presentation.

FBC: Firebreak is a cooperative first-person shooter for three players, set in the enigmatic Old House of the Federal Bureau of Control. The events of the game take place several years after the story of Control.

Players will assume the roles of operatives from an elite FBC unit known as Firebreak. Their mission is to counter a new outbreak of paranormal activity threatening the Old House.

The developers promise that FBC: Firebreak will be accessible for newcomers, while still offering a deep gameplay experience. Players will be able to customize their character's gear, including weapons and supernatural abilities.

Although the game is multiplayer, Remedy emphasizes that it is not a service-based project. The developers plan to regularly update the game with new content, including missions, maps, and storytelling elements.

FBC: Firebreak is set to be released in 2025 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (a page is already available on Steam). The game will be included in Xbox Game Pass and PlayStation Plus from day one of its release.
