During an interview with the Czech resource Indian, the lead designer of the game Kingdom Come: Deliverance II from Warhorse, Prokop Jirsa, shared details of the gameplay. A small part of the information can be considered a spoiler for the events of the game.

Overall, the second Kingdom Come: Deliverance is supposed to be a more polished version of what worked well in the first game, but not without surprises. The combat system is described as being less of an obstacle for beginners, but the game has not become casual. "It's not easier, just more accessible." In combat, there are only 4 attack directions instead of 5. But masterful strikes, perfect blocks, and combos have been expanded, and significant efforts will be required to learn how to fight.

There is no initial character creation screen, as in the first game. There's no need to study online guides to create a viable character - you can just play the game. But for optimal development and progression, a lot of work will be required.

Reputation has become more complex. There are new penalties, including branding. The brand affects statistics until the wound heals. By the end of the game, NPCs recognize the brand, which can both positively and negatively affect how they relate to you.

The game combines the freedom of gameplay in an open world with cinematic, relatively linear storytelling similar to KCD1. It's not an entirely captivating free simulator like Kenshi.

Firearms can scare people as it's a new invention. This depends on their bravery, injuries, armor, etc. Firearms also play an important role in some quests, particularly in a side quest dedicated to them.

The game will not have pointless quests and absurd moments, such as bandit camps a few minutes away from the tavern. The world is big enough and will not be overly saturated.

Saviour Schnapps is still relevant. The game continues to adhere to the principle of living with the consequences of your actions. But there are more autosaves, Schnapps is easier to brew - it's not as expensive, but it still should make the player think before doing something stupid.

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, there are no children. Children are too much extra work, and they also create issues with age ratings.

Warhorse used a heavily modified version of CryEngine to create the game. The engine allows for the creation of an active open world with fauna and flora. The city of Kuttenberg is much larger than Sasau.

In response to a question about Baldur's Gate 3, the developer expressed love and respect for Larian, but stated that their styles of games are significantly different from what Warhorse does. Both companies create complex games for experienced gamers, but there are significant differences.

Users also noticed that Warhorse removed the Russian language from the list of localizations on Steam. This has already caused a strong reaction on Russian gaming resources. However, Ukrainian is also currently missing, which will make it difficult for many players to progress.

On Friday, April 19, after the announcement of the second game, the number of players of the first game increased several times from 3000-4000 to over 23,000. In the first week, the basic Kingdom Come: Deliverance can be purchased for only ₴159, and the Royal Edition with four storyline add-ons for ₴213.
