This year, Samsung began shipping its own smart ring in several sizes, but it's not guaranteed that any of them will fit you personally. On the other hand, Xiaomi plans to address the issue through automation, allowing the device to adjust to a person's finger size. This development was noted in patents (via 91Mobiles).
According to the document, Xiaomi's ring will integrate an elastic element (PVC or rubber material), ensuring a perfect fit and allowing the device to be worn on any finger (or gifted to someone else).
The ring will be compatible not only with Bluetooth but also with Wi-Fi and mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G LTE, and 5G NR), and will feature NFC and UWB, along with sensors for proximity, temperature, acceleration, and more.
The patent suggests that the ring will include a touch area, a microphone, and a small speaker for making calls, and likely Air Gesture technology for controlling the device with gestures.
Xiaomi is also expected to provide features such as health tracking and connectivity with other devices. There's also a hint at using the ring to control connected phone cameras.
