The REDkit editor allows the addition of new locations and quests in The Witcher 3. The mod Tales of the Witcher brings Geralt back to the kingdom where key events of the Witcher saga occurred — in Cintra.

The modification is available for download on NexusMods, but it is still unfinished due to its large scale. Two quests serve as a prologue to the main storyline, introducing players to the world and preparing them for upcoming adventures. The territory of the city of the same name is still under development, but an early version is available for exploration.

The main concept of the mod is to create an engaging experience that encourages players to explore freely and immerse themselves fully in the Witcher universe. TotW aims to promote a slower playstyle, where monster contracts take center stage. Future plans also include character updates to add more depth and immersion, as well as new combat animations from The Witcher 2.

Currently, there is no map in the new game. The author, gerwant30, notes that this may change in the future, but it was done intentionally. Geralt's objectives are guided by conversations with characters who recount events and suggest next steps—similar to how it was done in role-playing games of the past.

I believe that exploring and discovering something on your own is far more enjoyable and rewarding. Geralt starts at level 10, so don't forget to allocate skills. If the battle is too difficult, try preparing by crafting potions or bombs. You can find an herbologist in the market if you need some ingredients.

The mod is intended for a new game and is incompatible with saves from the main The Witcher 3. Installation involves moving files into the game's root directory. Then, in the main menu, you should select Tales of the Witcher. The mod also does not feature voice acting due to a ban on the use of AI, but the author has created lip-syncing. Like other early access modifications, the addition may contain bugs, for which the author apologizes.

Thanks, your opinion accepted.
