One of the most successful games of last year, Hogwarts Legacy, will receive a Definitive Edition packed with a variety of new content. The game's preparation is unofficially reported by Insider Gaming.
According to insider information, the update will be released either as a separate DLC, which will require the original game, or as a complete Definitive Edition. It is expected to include 10 to 15 hours of new content, featuring the main quest, side missions, new activities, and clothing.
The release time and pricing for the expansion are still being negotiated. Sources suggest a window in 2025, taking into account Warner Bros.’ financial situation: weak sales of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League are prompting the company to enhance the profitability of games through its successful title. The leak hints that the DLC will be priced between $20 and $30.
Hogwarts Legacy was released in early 2023 and as of January 2024 has sold over 24 million copies. The game still ranks among the top ten best-selling games in the U.S. for 2024. Warner Bros. Discovery's CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels stated that the next Hogwarts Legacy game "is one of the biggest priorities in the next couple of years," outlining a timeline for the new game’s release.
