The team of Ukrainian developers Forpixie Studio has released the debut trailer for the game "Shine On, My Little Sun." This is an interactive fairytale that combines visual novel mechanics with a picturesque art style.
The game is expected to be the full version of the project that took fifth place at the Ukrainian Visual Novel Jam #4 in early 2024. The event organizer Ternox is the publisher of "Shine On, My Little Sun" and has announced its intention to publish several more visual novels from the jam participants. Players can also try out an early version of the game.
The events of "Shine On, My Little Sun" take place in a post-apocalyptic world, immersed in darkness, where the last human town of Svarzhnoe survives thanks to the warmth of the star trapped in the city lighthouse. The lives of the townspeople are disrupted by an unexpected event. A bewildered girl suddenly emerges from the light of the star - she will change the fate of the inhabitants of Svarzhnoe forever...
"Shine On, My Little Sun" is a coming-of-age story in a visual style. Players will be able to immerse themselves in the lives of numerous characters, move along different narrative branches, and make decisions that impact the story. "Shine On, My Little Sun" has three possible endings, which will be a consequence of the player's choices. The developers position the game as a tale of hope, acceptance of fate, and determination in times of turmoil and change.
"When the Sun fell from the sky, and the world was enveloped in darkness and cold, it seemed that there was no more hope for humanity. But even after losing their home, the Sun did not extinguish. It plunged into a deep sleep and continued to shine. Not as grandly as before, but it was enough for people to establish a settlement amidst eternal snows, which has now become the town of Svarzhnoe. The residents respect and protect their little Sun, creating a new home for it atop a whimsical lighthouse. The story begins on a special day when the Sun woke up to rediscover the world and exchange its memories of celestial grandeur for ordinary childhood dreams," the project description says.
Currently, the game "Shine On, My Little Sun" already has a Steam page, but the release date has not been announced yet.
