Despite the lack of an official announcement from Capcom, a page for Resident Evil 9 (RE9), the ninth installment of the iconic survival horror franchise, has appeared on Metacritic. This could indicate that the developer is preparing to unveil the highly anticipated game soon.

However, the platforms listed on the page only include PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. There is a possibility that Capcom may delay the release of RE9 on personal computers.

Rumors suggest that Resident Evil 9 is expected to release in 2025, so a current project announcement would generate even more excitement around it. However, the omission of PC and Xbox Series S among the target platforms on Metacritic may disappoint some fans of the series.

A similar situation is observed with GTA 6 from Rockstar Games, which also will not have a simultaneous release on PC and consoles. It is presumed that Capcom has decided to focus on optimizing RE9 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, considering the rumors of an open-world game.

It's worth noting that Capcom's previous open-world title, Dragon's Dogma 2, faced performance issues due to its multi-platform release. Therefore, the developer may choose to first launch RE9 on consoles before porting it to PC.

It should be noted that the information on Metacritic is not final and may be updated later.

Resident Evil is an iconic video game franchise in the survival horror genre, created by the Japanese company Capcom. The first game in the series was released in 1996 on PlayStation and gained immense popularity due to its tense atmosphere, puzzles, and innovative gameplay. Since then, the series has expanded to include dozens of games, including main entries and spin-offs, and has been adapted into films, animations, and comics.
