Larian Studios, known for its hit Baldur's Gate 3, is not planning to rest on its laurels.
The studio is wrapping up its work on BG3 and is already preparing to develop a new project that aims to surpass its previous success. Sven Vink, the CEO of Larian Studios, shared the company’s plans in an interview with IGN.
“Baldur's Gate 3 set a high standard for quality, so we are currently reflecting on how to elevate it even further,” noted Vink.
The success of Baldur's Gate 3 has created new challenges for the team. Expectations from the studio have significantly increased, but the developers remain optimistic and are eager to apply the experience gained to their future project.
Vink acknowledged that the scale of Baldur's Gate 3 was unprecedented for the team, which led to certain errors during development. However, these lessons will serve as a foundation for refining the creation process for the next game.
Baldur's Gate 3 has set numerous records in the gaming industry, including being awarded "Game of the Year" at all major award ceremonies.
Although the studio will not be working on Baldur's Gate 4, they have ambitious plans to create the "ultimate RPG". However, according to the developers, the realization of this idea is only possible with the advent of PlayStation 6.
