Soon Dell will introduce XPS 13 Plus laptops with Qualcomm processors. The site VideoCardz received information about the XPS 13 9345 Plus model with Snapdragon X Elite and Plus chips.
The new laptop has an internal name TributoQC, which imitates TributoRPL based on Intel Raptor Lake architecture. Dell has already released its XPS 13 laptop based on Meteor Lake architecture, but the Plus version is aimed at lower power and cost. It is worth noting that in the document, Qualcomm chips are called Nuvia, because at the time these slides were created, Qualcomm had not officially announced the Snapdragon X series yet.
The XPS 13 with Snapdragon will have 10- and 12-core configurations with a maximum TDP of 25.5 W. The laptop will have the same size but will be slightly lighter (1,210 g vs 1,225 g). The system will have a 13.4-inch screen, which will also be updated, but the resolution of the flagship OLED panel will be lower (from 3.5K to 2.8K). The laptop will use 16GB LPDDR5X-8400 memory (Intel models started at 8GB), there will also be options with 32GB and 64GB. The device will also receive a new Full-HD camera.
Dell plans to sell the laptop for $1199, but this price is stated for mid-2023 and it is unknown if it's wholesale or retail. If the laptop is released at this price, it will be $800 cheaper, making it comparable to the price of the MacBook Air M2. The company plans to release 241 thousand of these laptops, with production scheduled for June.
