Activision has announced that Call of Duty: Mobile has been downloaded over one billion times worldwide since its launch. The game, which was released in 2019 for Android and iOS, reached 270 million downloads within its first year.
Despite the game's success, Microsoft, in a statement to the UK's Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) regarding its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, noted that Call of Duty: Mobile is "expected to be phased out over time" following the release of Warzone Mobile.
In response to fan concerns, Activision reassured that it will continue to support the game and has a "robust roadmap" for new content and updates "for the foreseeable future." However, the company did not directly comment on Microsoft's statement or specify when the game might be discontinued. Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile was released on March 21.
The Season 10 — 5th Anniversary update for Call of Duty: Mobile launched on November 6. It introduced a new map for the Battle Royale mode called Krai, featuring a "dense urban landscape at the foothills of the Ural Mountains." Each player gets one chance to return after dying. Their team must reach the token and scan it for the player to return to the game. Players will also be able to purchase new passes to access festive content such as new operator skins, weapon blueprints, and calling cards.
