Ukrainians are gradually losing interest in vehicles with traditional internal combustion engines. In October 2023, cars with internal combustion engines accounted for 66% of the new car market, but this figure dropped to 62% by October 2024.
Among all new vehicles, models with gasoline internal combustion engines remain the most popular, representing 36.1% of new cars purchased by Ukrainians in October 2024. However, their popularity is rapidly declining—this figure was 45.5% a year ago.
The second-largest segment consists of cars with diesel engines, holding 26.3%. In October 2023, 20.4% of new cars sold had diesel engines.
At the same time, the share of hybrid vehicles increased from 18.6% to 20.7%. Electric vehicles now make up 16.6%, compared to 14.8% in October of the previous year. Cars using gas equipment are almost not in demand, representing less than 1% of total sales, similar to last year.
The most popular models in different segments:
- Gasoline cars — RENAULT Duster;
- Diesel cars — RENAULT Duster;
- Hybrid cars — TOYOTA RAV-4;
- Electric vehicles — HONDA M-NV;
