Apple has announced the repair costs for the iPhone 16, with some prices significantly differing from those for last year's models (specifically, the fees that apply after the warranty period ends).
For a battery replacement of the iPhone 16 Pro or iPhone 16 Pro Max at Apple Store locations, customers will need to pay $119, while for the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, the price was approximately $99. This represents a 20% increase over the previous price, which includes both the cost of the battery and the service (note that fees may vary with third-party authorized Apple service providers).
The fees for the standard iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus remain unchanged at $99.
Owners of the extended AppleCare+ warranty can receive a free battery replacement, but only if the battery retains less than 80% of its original capacity.
According to Apple, all four iPhone 16 models are equipped with larger batteries and have undergone an internal redesign for better heat dissipation. There were rumors about the use of a metal casing for the batteries in certain models, but this will only be confirmed after disassembly.
