Michał Nowakowski, co-CEO of CD Projekt Red, the creators of the games The Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077, strongly denied claims about the studio facing issues related to diversity and a mass exodus of specialists.
Although the company previously signed the "Diversity Charter," which includes commitments against workplace discrimination and promotes diversity, Nowakowski stated that employees at CDPR are hired based on professional capabilities, and the studio's game development is driven by artistic vision. He also mentioned the absence of "employee turnover."

“It seems we live in times when anyone can record complete nonsense and turn it into a story. Is talent leaving CDPR? We have the lowest turnover in recent years. Is our recruitment driven by DEIPrinciple of 'Diversity, Equity, Inclusion'? We hire solely based on merit and talent, just like we create games driven by artistic vision. Why did we choose UE? Because it allows us to work more efficiently on our games while staying at the forefront of technology. Did the game director of The Witcher 3 leave? Yes, over 2 years ago… Can we stop addressing conspiracy theories and get back to making amazing things?”
It is worth noting that a YouTuber named Endymion previously referenced internal sources claiming that CDPR faced challenges in hiring specialists due to diversity principles and the recent outflow of professionals. Endymion is known for provocative statements citing insiders that attract viewers and media attention to his channel, but they do not seem substantiated. The anonymity of sources does allow any claims to be made, which is why such references should always be approached with skepticism.
Meanwhile, there is no objective evidence indicating a crisis at the makers of The Witcher. CD Projekt Red is currently working on several games in various studios around the world. CD Projekt's strategy director Adam Kiciński stated that “diversity of perspectives fosters creativity and enhances innovation.”
