If you zero out all the registry keys in Windows 10, nothing good is likely to happen. But how much? An enthusiast decided to find out.
The YouTube channel Come on Windows conducted an experiment and published a video of the process and its results. The video has no accompanying text, so it's easy to miss something. Thus, most programs and functions do not work properly or behave strangely. Which is not surprising, as changing even one unknown registry parameter can lead to serious consequences.
The biggest problem that can be seen in the video is that Windows can no longer run .exe files and most programs with extension, even those built into the OS. Therefore, the functionality is very limited and it's easier to list what works.
In addition, Windows 10 components stop working properly. In the system characteristics, you can see an Intel 00th generation processor, Intel Core i7-00800H, and there is nothing to say about the correctness of the programs and hardware components.
But from another point of view, after setting all registry values to 0 in Windows 10, everything is not so bad. For example, Paint and WordPad still work, Microsoft Edge even launches its initial guide, but crashes before you can open any web pages.
It is strange that Windows 10 works at all under such conditions. For those who do not remember Windows 95 or 98, we remind you that they could "crash" even if everything was working normally, and solving problems often required reinstalling. Nevertheless, modern OS Windows 10 and 11 are more resilient, you can go for years without crashes (despite what the press may write).
