Ukrainians buy used cars from abroad less often: which models are the most popular

During October, the Ukrainian vehicle fleet increased by 16.3 thousand used passenger cars imported from abroad.

It is worth mentioning that this is the lowest monthly registration figure for imported used cars this year. Compared to October 2023, registrations of used cars from abroad dropped by 23%. When compared to September 2024, the number of registrations decreased by 4%.

The majority of the used cars imported are equipped with gasoline engines, accounting for 46% of the total. Overall, the distribution of engine types in this segment is as follows:

• gasoline — 46%;
• diesel — 26%;
• electric vehicles — 20%;
• hybrids — 4%;
• vehicles with gas equipment — 4%.

The average age of the used cars that were registered in Ukraine in October is 9.5 years.

The leader in registrations among the imported second-hand cars remains the Volkswagen Golf.

Since the beginning of the year, nearly 192.3 thousand used passenger cars have received their first registration in Ukraine, which is a 14% increase compared to the same period in 2023.
