The Nubia brand has launched the global version of the Red Magic 9S Pro — touted as the world's most powerful gaming smartphone, according to the manufacturer. The device features RGB lighting and touch triggers on the side of the body.
The Nubia Red Magic 9S Pro is equipped with a 6.8-inch AMOLED display that boasts a resolution of 1116×2480 pixels, a refresh rate of 120 Hz, and a touch sampling rate of 960 Hz. Its maximum brightness reaches 1600 nits. The device houses the top-tier Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Leading Version processor, which is an overclocked variant of the chip, allowing the Red Magic 9S Pro to be labeled as the most powerful gaming smartphone worldwide. The CPU frequency is boosted to 3.4 GHz, while the GPU frequency hits 1 GHz. The device can come with either 12 GB or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and storage options of 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 4.0.
To dissipate heat from the overclocked processor, the device employs special materials in a 10-layer construction along with an internal ICE 13.5 Cooling System featuring a Turbo Fan. This cooling system ensures optimal temperature maintenance during prolonged gaming sessions. According to the manufacturer, it can lower the temperature by as much as 19.5°C.
The Nubia Red Magic 9S Pro sports a triple-camera system on its back. It comprises sensors with resolutions of 50 MP, 50 MP, and 2 MP, with the main module featuring optical image stabilization. Notably, the camera unit does not protrude, which is a common design element in most modern flagship smartphones. The front camera is 16 megapixels.
The Red Magic 9S Pro is powered by a dual-cell battery that offers a total capacity of 6500 mAh. It supports fast charging at 80 watts. The device measures 163.98 x 76.35 x 9.47 mm and weighs 229 g. It runs on the REDMAGIC OS 9.5 operating system.
The Nubia Red Magic 9S Pro, in the 12+256 GB configuration, is priced at $650 / €650 / £580, while the 16+512 GB version retails for $800 / €800 / £710.
