Insider Jukanlosreve (via gizmochina) has revealed key specifications for the upcoming iPhone SE 4, along with its price range and release date.
The budget-friendly Apple smartphone is expected to launch in March 2025. The most significant internal change for the iPhone SE 4 may be Apple's custom 5G modem, codenamed "Centauri" — a solution that could improve the device’s efficiency and reduce Apple's reliance on external modem suppliers.
The iPhone SE 4 might replace the LCD display with a 6.05-inch LTPS OLED panel offering a resolution of 2532 x 1170 and a peak brightness of 800 nits. The display's durability could also increase due to the use of Ceramic Shield (the same material found in the iPhone 14).
To enhance performance, Apple is likely to utilize the A18 chip (as seen in the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus) and equip the smartphone with 8 GB of RAM (primarily to support Apple Intelligence features).
As for the camera, the upgrade may be modest— the insider suggests that the iPhone SE 4 will come with a 48-megapixel Sony Exmor IMX904 sensor on the rear and a 12-megapixel front camera.
The iPhone SE 4 is expected to measure 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm and feature a 3279 mAh battery (for comparison, the iPhone SE 3 had a 2018 mAh battery — a jump of over 62%). Other potential features include Face ID, IP68 protection, support for wired charging (up to 20W), and MagSafe wireless charging (up to 15W).
Last but not least, the leak indicates that the price of the iPhone SE 4 could range from $499 to $549.
