Google is developing an artificial intelligence project codenamed Jarvis, which will be capable of independently managing web browsers and carrying out everyday tasks for users. This was reported by The Information.
According to sources from the publication, the company plans to unveil the first version of the project as early as December 2024. Jarvis will primarily work with the Chrome browser and assist users in searching for information, shopping, and booking flights.
The system analyzes the screen content through regular snapshots and takes necessary actions based on this analysis: clicking buttons and entering text into appropriate fields.
The development of Jarvis is part of Google’s strategy to enhance the capabilities of the Gemini AI platform. This month, the Gemini Live chatbot received support for dozens of new languages, and its features have been integrated into Google Meet, Photos, and other company services.
The news about Jarvis surfaced shortly after Google’s competitor, Anthropic, unveiled a similar technology for its AI Claude. The system from Anthropic is already available in public beta testing.
