Sony unveiled the PlayStation 5 Pro on September 10. The console will retail for $700, making it one of the priciest models in the PlayStation lineup's history. The disc drive for the new version will be sold separately.
Games optimized for the PS5 Pro will be able to deliver both high resolution and frame rates simultaneously, thanks to more powerful hardware and AI-based image scaling technology known as PSSR.
Sony anticipates that by the console's launch, between 40 to 50 games will have optimized versions for the PS5 Pro. The console will also be compatible with PS4 and PS5 games that do not receive specific updates. Some of these may operate more efficiently due to the Boost Mode.
